When Jerome was 13 his brother Brandon was born. His ma remained in the hospital until her and Brandon was able to go home. Meanwhile Jerome and his da were outside playing football. He and his da had a very strong bond before and after Brandon was born; Jerome's da bonded with him nearly every day even if he was super busy. His da found some way to multitask. Then suddenly a few months ago his da was diagnosed with lung cancer. He had to remain at the hospital so they could keep an eye on him. But then suddenly - he couldn't breathe; the doctors did everything they could but they couldn't save him so they just let him die. After his da's death his ma called him on his phone and told Jerome that his da had passed away that night. Jerome was devastated.
